At Beldi Sélection, personalization is part of every piece's story.
Our creations are handmade in Marrakech, and each personalization is made especially for the order. We work directly with the artisans in our workshop, with no middleman, from making the piece to the final personalization.
This is the way of working we chose from the very beginning: keeping control of every step and taking the time each piece needs.
Letters made one by one
For the names and words you choose, each letter is first crocheted in wool.
It is then attached directly onto the piece, stitch by stitch, with a needle. On a chest, a hat or a palm leaf basket, this work takes precision and several hours, depending on the personalization.
Each letter is positioned, sewn and attached by hand by the artisans in our workshop in Marrakech.
It takes longer than a quick personalization, but above all it gives you a piece where the name is truly part of the object, made to last.
Personalization that goes beyond a name
Over the years, we've personalized all kinds of pieces: palm leaf chests, baskets, cushion covers, wall hats and accessories.
Depending on the piece and the project, you can choose your text, the colors, the lettering style and various personalization details.
A name for a birth, a word for a child's room, an inscription for a gift, or even a logo for a professional project: every order is prepared case by case.
We love this freedom because it lets us start from a handmade piece and make it truly personal.
Work done directly in our workshop
Behind every order, there's our workshop in Marrakech and the artisans we work with directly, every day.
There's no middleman between our workshop and you. We follow each step of making and personalizing, which also means we can talk directly with the artisans whenever we have a special request.
Weaving the natural fibers, preparing the letters, then attaching them to the piece: every step takes time and real attention to detail.
That's also why no two pieces are ever perfectly identical. Natural materials have their own nuances, the weave can vary slightly, and every personalization is done by hand.
Why we chose to work this way
We could have chosen a faster method to personalize our creations.
But we've always preferred to keep this handmade gesture, even when it takes more time.
A letter crocheted and then attached stitch by stitch with a needle doesn't give the same result as a name simply applied onto a surface. The personalization truly becomes part of the piece and can stay with it over time.
This matters especially for gifts meant to be kept for a long time: a chest given for a child's birth, a personalized basket, a piece created for a home, or an item made for a business.
